As we operate around the States, we are always looking for people happy to work with us in the positions of Baker/Cashier (locations vary depending on the festival location). 

Chimney Cakes Baker/Cashier 

 

Job Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, as well as for preparing the dough, rolling and shaping it into the traditional shape, and baking it on a special grill until golden brown and crispy. The chimney cake maker then adds various toppings or fillings to the pastry, making it a delicious and unique treat.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dough Rolling: Roll and shape the dough over the wooden stick, ready for baking on the grill.

  • Baking: Place the dough on the grill and bake the chimney cakes until golden brown and crispy, carefully monitoring the temperature and cooking time.

  • Topping Preparation: Prepare and measure out various toppings and fillings, such as nutella, fruit, and ice cream, to add to the chimney cakes.

  • Presentation: Plate and present the finished chimney cakes in an attractive and appetizing manner.

  • Customer Service: Interact with customers, take orders, and answer any questions they may have about the chimney cakes and the ingredients used.

  • Cleaning: Clean and maintain the chimney cake grill, work area, and kitchen equipment, ensuring that all food handling and safety regulations are followed.

 

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in cooking, baking, or food preparation is required

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, such as the temperature of the grill, the cooking time, and the consistency of the dough, to produce high-quality chimney cakes.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and take orders.

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
